Los Angeles Narrative

Looking back to the event, it was amazing and just a dream come true. The  view from downtown is visible from where I stand. You can smell the hot dogs from the lady around the corner. Skating by downtown feels great. You can feel the breeze hit your face and the feeling you get whenever someone is looking at you while you are doing a trick or just standing there minding your own business. The touch of my board is rough from the top, because of the griptape, I can feel this feeling whenever I pick up my board. The texture from my board is also soft and smooth from it's bottom, where the graphic is located at.

Making my way to Carl's Jr makes me more hungry. Popping my board from the ground and hearing it echo throughout the streets feels great. I for once felt like I could do anything. When I open the doors from Carl's I felt a slide breeze hitting my face and my friends, too. You can smell the burgers being made and also you can heard them make them. The smell hit us like a cartoon movie... It was like if a hand in the air made by the smell was telling us to come in and eat there. We were so hungry and we couldn't wait to get our food served. We ordered and the longer we waited for our food the more hunger we got.

While we were eating, I had caught someone from the corner of my eye and looked over. My friends and I were looking at the same person. Across the street a guy was guiding lots of people with cameras and much more equipment. As we saw them go inside where we skate, we got curious and wanted to see what was occurring so we ate fast and as soon as everyone was done eating we all went at the same time and we left right away. After arriving to the spot, we found them. They were setting up there equipment and other stuff. We skated there for awhile. An hour had past and the guy who we had seen guiding the people was walking towards us. He came over to us and told us,
"Can you guys do tricks off that drop over there?" While he said that he was point at the spot he wanted us to do tricks off. We all said yes, of course. While walking to the drop he had told us we could be on a music video and even get sponsor by them. I felt tired and the wind wasn't blowing anymore.

As soon as I had popped into the 6-stair drop. I had felt the impact and my knees bending while I land my trick off the drop. Rolling away from my trick I had done, felt good because it's a feeling you can't express. After doing all the tricks off the drop, that were meant for the music video. We were very tired and I had felt the sweat running through my face and the cold breeze hitting every single part of my body. The place where I was sitting at was very quite. Then some of my friends came over.

Nuclear Power Plants

Nuclear Power

People cannot make up their minds if either to be against or for nuclear power plants. There are more cons than pros. It's great that we don't kill or get radiation with nuclear plans, unless the nuclear power is destroyed. Therefore I'm against nuclear power plants. Do we really need them?

Nuclear power plants are very expensive and if the radiation gets out, we can get any type of diseases, for example one of the most known "Cancer". if nuclear plants are destroyed, the radiation goes everywhere and also the waste can get in food and water. Wastes from the plants take as long as 500-700 thousand years to completely disappear. Why would we want wastes that last long and affect the future of our kids?

One of million reasons why there shouldn't be any nuclear power is the cost to construct it. One nuclear power plant can go up to $50 million or even more! Some people don't even want it. Then why even build and spend so much money on a nuclear plant when we can use it in different things, such as schools, hospitals, new buildings for kids, or improve things that have to be fixed or make things better, useful things.

Fukushima was one of the biggest disasters that has happen in the entire world! The radiation went everywhere and also it got in the water. That water now has radiation. That same water has came to Los Angeles. Fukushima's disaster was the biggest, worse, and unique disaster. This is why some people really don't want it since Fukushima happen. Japan was in a disaster and had to rebuild buildings and also can't go into the water where the radiation has gone to.

I have gave you 3 out of thousand reasons why nuclear power is bad. Out of all those thousands reasons, those 3 reasons caught my eye. Wastes that last up to 500-700 thousand years, radiation that can kill us and give us cancer, and Fukushima's disaster. There can be another disaster like Fukushima's or even worse. We live in the the most biggest faults in the U.S. We are on top of the San Fransisco Fault line. If we had one nuclear power plant and a terrible earthquake.. only God knows what would happen. We wouldn't end well and we would be having wastes everywhere and also lost lives and money, lots of money.. That's for sure.

Civil Disobedience

Civil Disobedience
Are we really disobeying the law? Are we really going against our own government? Or are we trying to make the US or our country a better place? Why is our government so corrupt? They think they are doing goof to us, but instead they are hurting us. Why would a government want us to be so afraid of cops/police. As we have seen today, white cops are killing black people just for standing up for themselves or EVEN walking! The then start saying lies that they had a gun or they were threatening them. We can’t even walk in the streets without being scared. Without having to watch your back all the time. We fight for our own people. We stay together and we unite! In my opinion what our government is and what they do for us is nothing. They do it because THEY want to, not for us. We have to fight for our own people. We have to make them hear our names and who have died for us. They don’t fight for us, we fight for them, and we fight for our own. Together we speak, together we fight… This is a strike. “No country has ever become, or will ever become happy through victory in war...” –Mohandas K. Gandhi
Howard Zinn is a professor emeritus at Boston University. Cihan Aksan and Hon Bailes gave an interview to Howard. In one point of the interview he has been asked “Why do people submit so readily to injustice?” He says that people have been taught to respect and trust the President, their minister, even their family. They may tell them to submit to injustice because they feel they owe something to their government, or their church or their family. He also said, that the system is wanting us to judge other people or justify someone by the system. We need to make this society morally better and justified. We put the rules and we tell who we are. You don’t see advertisements of what is right and what is wrong. You have to learn by yourself. He says that our problem civil obedience, and not civil disobedience. :Both in way and in the law courts and everywhere else you must do whatever your city and your country command” I strongly agree with him because we are being treaty like lab rats and we have to do whatever they tell us to do. Should we really listen them or our people?
“… there are two types of laws: there are just and there are unjust laws. I would agree with Saint Augustino that “An unjust law is no law at all.” Now what is the difference between the two? How does one determine when a law is just or unjust? A just law is a manmade code the squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that us out of harmony with the moral law…” -Martin Luther King ,Jr. In my own words King’s quote here is legit, why?  Because we make the just laws and the government does the unjust laws. Laws that think they is right. He was fighting for his own people’s justice. We fight everywhere for our own. If you see around the world you can see people fighting for laws that are not fair or fighting for soldiers to come back. King has been getting his ideas from Gandhi and Thoreau. We all have an idea, but the government can’t be one. You might think our government is great is killing us little by little, if you haven’t noticed. America isn’t the greatest country in the world.             American isn’t the greatest country in the world, anymore. We used to fight for what was right, not for a stupid idea or reason. American isn’t the only country with freedom. There are around 178 countries with freedom. You realize right now that the government is making you think that America is the only one with freedom. They have brainwashed you with all the lies they had said and do. If you haven’t noticed, then you are probably brainwashed by now. They say they fight for us and say we are all they need. No, lies they say, we don’t need them to be happy or have laws. We need humans, not robots. We are just doing what they told us to do. NO! We are not machines! We are people. We are human beings like them, but they don’t understand. Also think about this for a second, has the government brainwashed us so much they could have made a myth about God itself? What if the government was God? Have they brainwashed us all that? We don’t disobey. We obey for what is right and not for robots.      We are not the problem. We don’t break laws. We make them. The government thinks that we are doing awful by not following what they tell us to do. Is it really wrong to disobey something that is wrong? Is it that bad that even some of us have to go to jail? We are fighting for a cause. The government doesn’t see this, they see it some other type of way. They think us as useless, unless we are helping them by fighting for them in the war or working for them. They think of us as machines, we are not machines. We are human beings, with feelings! We just don’t let others fight for us but we fight with them. We help them. We help our people even though sometimes you might not see it, some people do it without you even knowing. Why do we not realize that the government is corrupt? They do things that no one asked for, for example sending troops to countries that don’t even need help. We send people to kill other people. Some of us judge others but that’s life. We aren’t perfect, but sometimes people are not good enough for others, for example they think Muslims are terrorists. Do we really want to show our future children that judging is good? That labeling people is good? No, why don’t we all put some work on this fight together? What do you lose to help? Do you lose your dignity by helping out people who need our help or need resources? No, even better, you gain dignity by helping others without looking back, or looking at other people doing it. Why do you want attention for something you are doing good, IF YOU know you are doing good. Do good without looking back at others.

My Life

Is my life really my life? Is my body really my body? Is this pain really all my pain? Am I living right now? Does it really matter? You don't know me. You might think I look like a nerdy kid with freckles everywhere and braces. No, you don't know me one single bit. I am brown, I live in Georgia, I am Mexican. I'm tall enough to reach on top of the fridge. I have lived for 16 years. I'm a teenager. I feel I have live for a long time. My name? Jimmy Rhomberg. Is my name really my name? Or was it meant for someone else? My father gave it to me. Not the father I have now. He is.. nothing of me. My dad named me after a toilet, well that's what I think. What else should I tell you of myself? School? Anti-school was the usual, boring and just..not exciting. Anti-school? What is that? It's the same as saying school but I call it Anti-school since they don't really teach you anything. I have wasted so much time in school, I think it's better to not be in there since I don't learn anything at all. Are you judging me right now? You don't know me. You might think I look like a nerdy kid with freckles everywhere and braces. No, you don't know me one single bit.

My mother doesn't know me much. Why? Because she leaves for work early and comes back late at night. She thinks she knows me, just because I'm her son, no. When she comes home early at times, she always ask me how things are in school, home and myself. When she asks me how I'm doing, I always tell her everything is ok. Why does she always have to leave me with the man at home? She makes the living in the house, if I could really call it a home. She leaves me with the man that treats me bad and never tells me anything nice. He barely works and when he does go to work he comes back in the midnight. He makes weird trips because he comes back late at night and always goes at night. My mother wants me to accept him as my father but no one will ever take the place of my father. I actually don't know my father much since he has left me. He left me when I was 7. My mother wouldn't tell me anything about him but that he as a bad man. I don't think he was a really bad man. I have a feeling he was never a bad man.

I really don't think my life is really my life. Why? Because It's just that a life would be enjoying life. I don't enjoy a single bit. I just enjoy my life when I'm in school. Why just in school? Because I get to see the most beautiful girl in the world. Yes, cheesy but I really can't see another girl like that. She has dark brown curly hair, her eyes are bright whenever she is in the sun, her face is just like looking at a beautiful portrait, and her smile is so bright I get lost in them. That is the only part of my life I really enjoy. She always makes feel in the clouds whenever I see her. What's her name? Daisy Garcia. Great name for a beautiful person. I barely have friends. Why? Because I don't talk much and when I have friends either they don't respect me for who I am or they are just backstabbers. My real friends are close to me and think they know me, too. They don't know a single think about me. They think they are so close they are my best-friends. I have no best-friends. In my whole entire life I had one best-friend. I have no life. You think you might know me. You don't know me. You might think I look like a nerdy kid with freckles everywhere and braces. No, you don't know me one single bit.

How It Feels To Be An American

What it feels to be an American? When you hear the word "American" you instantly think of white people. Why not African Americans? Native Americans? Mexican American? I consider myself Mexican because of my parents and also because I was rise there. Even though I'm American, from Bakersfield, California, I consider myself Mexican. Don't take me wrong or anything! Being American is great and everything but since I was little I had consider myself fully Mexican.

In my 3rd grade class, I was still in Mexico, they taught me how to sing the Independence song. I can remember some parts of my childhood but not everything. Since I was little I was taught to grow up strong and wise. In Mexico you need to be very smart with stuff or else people will take advantage of you. However It's still longer than the "Start Spangle Banner". Mexican celebrate Independence like there was never-tomorrow. Being free and having the freedom of speech is pretty good because in North Korean or in some countries, from what I heard is bad. You have to watch your mouth and watch what you say before you even say anything. Having the right to express your feelings and do something (not illegal) you like to do without someone telling you anything.

Have the right to practice any religion. Everyone have rights no matter what race nor what religion they practice. People might judge you because there will always be people like that everywhere you go. People who won't like you will be those people who will try to bring you down the most painful days of your life. Being American is being free! Being able to express yourself. Also to do whatever you would want to do, not bad. People might think being American is about just sitting and eating all day or being lazy or just be locked up and not be able to do anything at all.. no. You get to have your voice heard and if that doesn't work then you do a strike.

EPT Test

The argument she is writing about is about advertising useless stuff instead of stuff we actually need. Sue Jozui writes "This kind of marketing is misleading and insults the intelligence of the audience.." What I think she meant by this is, that they are making the audience think they should have the  item the celebrity is advertising.

Her argument seems legit. Why? Because why would we want advertisements that show useless stuff and wasting around $200,000 million dollars on just advertisements every single year! I agree with her. what if there wasn't anyone going to college for less advertisements we have of getting better jobs in life? What then? No doctors, police, teachers, etc. The resources we actually need we aren't getting the.. Celebrities are just doing it for the money instead for what the people actually need.

The issues we have now are money. We are using the money for useless stuff instead of using it for the useful things, no, we aren't. Why are we losing so much money in the things we don't need at all. The government is brainwashing us! People don't notice because they are already brainwashed. What if there wasn't god? Never existed.. and government was god? They just brainwashing with a lot of things. You have no word in here. The government is just taking the money for advertising whatever they want. They want you to be the way THEY want you to be with all these advertisements.

If a celebrity has a new car or toothpaste or anything they are trying to advertise.. Should we buy it? they want you to be like they want you to be. they are brainwashing you and if you haven't noticed it's because you have been brainwashed already! Never make them think like they want you to. Wasting money, throwing it away instead of buying water, clothes or even food for countries that really need it at all! Throwing million of dollars for nothing. Should we really let them do this to us? What do you think of them? Would you prefer advertisements that are just for stuff we don't need at all OR would you prefer wasting your money on something that really helps OUR country or other, for our country to be a better place instead of what it is nowadays. What would YOU choose?
Choose now.. Before it's too late.
